All Night Long

I try not to post too much music here; is there anything less likely and more annoying than a friend tugging on your sleeve and hectoring you to listen to some song he's struck by? And yet, here's another one in less than a week. Suck it up, wieners.

And this particular outing is more than just one song, it's kind of a mashup salute by a grooveoisie band (complete with attractive lead singer) and one of my all time favorite soul songs from back in the day "He Called Me Baby" by Candi Staton. Even at its most popular, it was fairly obscure, so I never ran across it without stopping to pay attention. This new version just popped up and I'm wild for it.

    If you hadn't tugged, I may have never even youtubed this song & seen it...
    I've loved it since the first time I heard it, it is one of a very few that I turn up the radio for, and I'm lucky, they play it here in NYC.

    I find on thing more annoying than being goaded into listening to someone's musical choice. That is "You've gotta read this" when you have no interest in the history of Albania or how to crochet a tea cosy.

    quite beautiful. kabuki has been listening to candi staton's 'when you wake up tomorrow', which i found when cleaning up my laptop last week. life is funny, isn't it? and if you don't laugh you know you are gonna cry. love ya kid, kabuki
