Well, I don't have any clue as to what you might like, but very much off the top of my head:
I've been intrigued by Vashti Bunyan (a folk singer from the early 70s who's become the darling of some hipsters it seems) You'll either find her enchanting or laugh...or a little of both. As for new(er) stuff... (well, from there earlier 2000s) Zoot Woman is very new new wavish. And cute too. I love their first few cds. "Living in a Magazine"...their cover of Kraftwerk's "the Model"..."Grey Day"..anything but their newest cd is good. There's always LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, (cowbells!), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (though a little of them goes a long way there). I've also been listening to a lot of Blossom Dearie...so good...from the 50's through the 70s I think she was...and an album by Paul Anka of covers....especially his cover of the Cure's "Love Cats." Oh, and lots and lots of disco!
really?

A cover of a Kraftwerk song? I'm on it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteCowbells. Mmmmm.
Paul Anka covered the Cure. What?
As I said, thanks.
